| SILVER – sometimes labeled BLANCO, can be aged up to three months in wooden casks, though most are entirely unaged. It retains the fresh & intense flavor of the agave & is primarily used for mixed drinks. | |
| GOLD – is not an officially recognized quality grade but rather silver tequila with caramel coloring. | |
| REPOSADO – translated literally means RESTED and is aged in oak barrels for 3 – 11 months. | |
| ANEJO – translated literally means AGED. By Mexican law, anejo tequila must be aged a minimum of 1 year. By virtue of time spent in wood, both reposado & anejo tequilas shed some of the intense agave flavors & take on a richer, deeper, more rounded & mellow character. | |
